Find and cancel subscriptions you pay Apple for on your Mac

Why it happens

Subscriptions you start in apps, the App Store or on an Apple device are billed to your Apple Account, so they're easy to forget once a free trial ends. They all appear in one list under your Apple Account. Subscriptions you bought on a company's own website aren't in that list, because Apple doesn't bill them.

How to fix it

1. Click the Apple menu, choose System Settings, then click your name at the top of the sidebar.

2. Click Media & Purchases, then click Manage… next to Subscriptions. You may need to sign in with your Apple Account password.

3. You'll see your active subscriptions, with expired ones below. Click the one you want to stop and choose Cancel Subscription, then confirm.

4. After cancelling, you can usually keep using it until the end of the period you've paid for. If you cancel during a free trial, you may lose access straight away.

Still not fixed?

1. If a subscription isn't in the list, you may have bought it on the company's own website, or with a different Apple Account. Cancel it on that website, or sign in with the other account and check its list.

2. If someone in your family subscribed with their own Apple Account, it appears only in their list, so they need to cancel it themselves.

3. To see every charge Apple made and report one you don't recognise, sign in at reportaproblem.apple.com in Safari. It lists your purchase history with dates and amounts.

4. If you see a charge you can't find in your Apple purchase history, or you want to ask about a refund, contact Apple Support. If Apple has no record of it, talk to your bank too.
