Get rid of spam events and junk calendars on your Mac
Quick answer
In Calendar, Control-click the unwanted calendar in the list on the left and choose Unsubscribe. Don't click any links inside its events.
Why it happens
Some websites trick you into subscribing to a calendar, often with a pop-up that looks like a normal button. After that, the site can push events into your Calendar whenever it likes. The events are annoying but can't harm your Mac unless you click their links.
How to fix it
Open the Calendar app.
If you can't see the list of calendars on the left, choose View, then Show Calendar List.
Calendar›View›Show Calendar List
Look for a calendar you don't recognise, often under Subscriptions or Other. Control-click it and choose Unsubscribe.
Calendar›Control-click calendar›Unsubscribe
If Calendar offers to report it as junk too, go ahead. The spam events vanish once it's gone.
Still not fixed?
Check your iPhone and iPad too, since spam calendars are often added there. Open the Calendar app, tap Calendars at the bottom of the screen, then tap the info button next to the calendar you don't recognise. Scroll down and tap Delete Calendar.
If the events come back, open Calendar's settings and click Accounts. If you see an account you didn't add, remove it in Internet Accounts in System Settings.
Calendar›Settings…›Accounts
From now on, close any website that asks to add a calendar you didn't ask for.
If spam keeps arriving after all of this, contact Apple Support.
